AKC v. UKC
I am looking to purchase a AKC registered bitch and have a UKC reg dog. I have been told that it is not hard to get UKC reg for a AKC reg dog, is that correct?
Well both AKC and UKC accept breeds into their registry under certain circumstances. Please let me know what breed you are interested in so that I can advise you properly.
Sara, I know everyone says that a UKC Pit Bull cannot be registered with AKC. A few months ago this topic was brought up on another board. Now what got me is a lady who is in the know did not say it directly but it was inferred that under certain circumstances that if the dog was really special that it may be possible. Any input on this?
Russell Terrier
Parson/Jack Russell Terrier is the breed.
Bajas, I can't speak for AKC, but we do know they used UKC papers to establish their American Staffordshire Terrier. If they won't accept APBTS now, it's political. They like to say they are two different breeds. I would put up one of our classes against theirs any day and most judges would conclude the UKC APBT classes are superior.

Thank you for your question. Download our single application at: http://www.ukcdogs.com/rg/pdf/fo6adm.pdf Be sure to read all instructions carefully. You will need to download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader if you haven't already. If you have any trouble email me at sjonas@ukcdogs.com Be sure to include 3 pictures that compliment the dog.
Once the dog becomes UKC registered, you can register the litter. Both Sire and Dam of a litter must be UKC registered before the litter can be registered.
