This is real near the Mississippi River and Rum River so it makes me wonder if the cats are following those routes looking for new home ranges. There were unconfirmed sightings of a cougar north of me in the Watertown/Delano area in the last three weeks. Makes you wonder if they are just expanding that much from the Dakotas or if there are folks moving them for some reason.

With the crops most all out of the fields it has taken some of their cover away in the southern half of the state. Those that have expanded their range during the summer are now being spotted. It really makes you wonder how many are out there if they are generally hard to spot.

i don't give a crap what the dnr says , they planted them to take care of the deer populations, i feel i have one on trail cam, with 3 others saying they seen one within 3 miles of were my picture was taken. also my brother deer hunts 30 miles north and see one at 75 yards through his spotting scope watched long enough to let his daughter look at it to. the proof is in the vidieo were the reporter says the dnr says likley it won't be seen again. i think they thought that would be the case statewide. seems like another timber wolf deal, no we haven't intrduced any until they were being spotted all over. if you go to the dnr website and search mountain lion, it's pretty much says you can't shoot one you have to call a dnr officer to investigate. they weren't protected about 5 years ago and now the are. things are adding up real quick.

plant some more elk or muley's
