Coon Feeders and Kids

I know I've seen many many discussions/opinions on using feeders, and up till last month had never done so. Never needed to. Well guys, I put one behind the house and I gotta tell ya, it keeps the kids excited when you can turn loose in the yard and get treed without going through cutoverg, swamps, briars, etc. I took my 8 year old daughter last night and was treed within 5 miniutes about 500 yards out back...She had a blast and therefor so did I. I figure on keeping the feeder up and just using it once in a while when a young kid wants to go, or I have 2 get up at 4am and need a quick drop. Just figured I share this, as I see it, I'm 4 feeders in certian situations and feeders aren't 4 me in other situations.

That is what I use them for. But I learned the hard way you can ruin a dog by turning them out on a feeder too much. they loose there desire to work a hard track. They will always look for an easy one.

We went again last night. The hound hit a track(couple hundred yards from feeder) and ran about a quarter mile then fell up treed hard. If your not hunting right at the bucket all the time, so far I don't see a difference than when we raise corn and I turn loose in the corn field. Anyway, huntings been good here in Va...Nights down around 35...Not too cold or hot. I see the trees starting to bud...That means ticks and not seeing a lot of the coons up in the tall timber...Gotta take the good with the bad I guess.
