Bush vs Kerry Im confused.

I'm confused. Maybe some of you can help me.
I'm trying to get all this political stuff straightened out in my head so
I'll know how to vote come November. Right now, we have one guy saying one
thing. Then the other guy says something else. Who to believe. Lemme see;
have I got this straight?

Clinton awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Yugoslavia - good.......Bush
awards Halliburton no-bid contract in Iraq - bad...

Clinton spends 77 billion on war in Serbia -good......Bush spends 87 billion
in Iraq - bad...

Clinton imposes regime change in Serbia - good...Bush imposes regime change
in Iraq - bad...

Clinton bombs Christian Serbs on behalf of Muslim Albanian
terrorists-good... Bush liberates 25 million from a genocidal dictator -
bad...

Clinton bombs Chinese embassy - good... Bush bombs terrorist camps -bad...

Clinton commits felonies while in office - good...Bush lands on aircraft
carrier in jumpsuit - bad...

No mass graves found in Serbia -good... No WMD found Iraq - bad...

Stock market crashes in 2000 under Clinton - good...Economy on upswing under
Bush - bad...

Clinton refuses to take custody of Bin Laden - good...World Trade Centers
fall under Bush - bad...

Clinton says Saddam has nukes - good... Bush says Saddam has nukes - bad...

Clinton calls for regime change in Iraq - good... Bush imposes regime change
in Iraq - bad...

Terrorist training in Afghanistan under Clinton - good... Bush destroys
training camps in Afghanistan - bad...

Milosevic not yet convicted - good... Saddam turned over for trial - bad...

Ahh, it's so confusing!

Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average tax burden
on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day".

This is the day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the
government.

This year under President Bush, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's t he
earliest it has been since 1991. It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which
occurred in 2000 during Clinton's term.

Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are
actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no
explanation and provided no data for this claim.

Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy men.
Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns 4 mansions, all
worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old barn
brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame).

Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that sound
right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a way
to avoid paying his own.

By the way, it's only 36 days until the election. . .So who should i vote for?

"Wrong war wrong place wrong time" but he voted for it and said Sadam needed to go. He has said he will not pull troops out until the job is finished, same as Bush,. Of course I dont believe Kerry.

If Kerry is able the one thing I know he will do is raise taxes. He has voted for tax increases everytime. I cant afford any more taxes, Why dont some of yall figure out how much Social Security your paying in, your employer is matching this. Think about how much your going to draw when you retire. Is this a good plan? Can we trust them with more?

The problem isn't taxes its management. Think about this when you spend a dollar, youve already paid income tax on it. The next person pays income tax on it and on down the line including sales tax. I i want to know how much doesnt go to the government . What is Kerry's great plans? It really doesn't matter if he does win without the majority in the senate and the house he cant do anything. What gets me is even the democrats dont like him. They cant come up with anything good to say about him, just bad things about Bush.

Richey, you are confused! Wait until they outsource your good job to China and get huge tax breaks off of the profit from doing that, then maybe you will be less confused and find out you have been had.

Didn't NAFTA go into effect under Clinton? What laws has Bush passed that sent jobs over seas? High priced Union pay has hurt this country more than Bush. Construction workers making 30 dollars an hour isn't right. If you want bigger money get an education. I'm not knocking constuctuction, I did it a lot of years, and was proud of my work, but Union have over inflated the wage.

Please respond. Did you use your Godard junior college degree to get yor contuction job?l

Coldtrail,
I'm part of IBEW Local 53 here is Kansas City. I am a apprentice lineman and along with my job training I also have to do 3 1/2 years of schooling. Just because you are in a Union, doesn't mean your aren't getting a education. I have a buddy that is part of the 124 here is Kansas City that is a apprentice commercial electrician. He has to do as much schooling as I do.

I don't know what you was refering to as to Unions, but some of us that are in unions are getting a education. If you don't pass the schooling, you don't have a job.

Some of the lineman I work with have discussed this same issue here lately. They really don't know what to do. They don't like what Bush has done, and they really don't want to see Kerry in there. As for me, I feel the same way. I wanted Bush in four years ago. After what I have seen the last four years, I am not really a big fan of him. The war issue is not to big with me. I have no problem with what we did. From what I have seen and heard of Kerry, I don't want him either. So I guees it's one of those situations as danged if you do, and danged if you don't.

I didn't mean to offend. I worked as a Journeyman millwright out of local 1723 myself. What I want to say is in some Union jobs the wages are driving up the price of the service. People workin on assembly lines in car plants are making way more than I feel its worth. I have been on Union jobs wher a large majority of the workers just didn't perform the job. They couldn't be fired, they were robbing the company. They would get the first lay off and the B.A. would send them to sponge off of some other employer. This drove this price of the product up which resulted in less profit which results in less jobs.

Clinton sets aside SS security net. Bad Bush spends it and takes credit for lowering taxes. Good

Richy
If Bush gets in for another term then you will find out what you voted for. If Kerry gets in he will raise taxes to make up for Bushs mistakes and get criticized.

Wages are the smallest expense in most major industry. They get the most attention from people who do not have the talent or creativity to attack the more challenging problems.

"By the way, it's only 36 days until the election. . .So who should i vote for?"

Kerry. Why didn't you just ask in the first place? I am always willing to help those that need it. : )

Kyle
P.S. Don't feel bad. I voted for Pres. Bush last time. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me!

Posted by Bryan Davis on 10-08-2004 01:51 AM:

You didn't offend me. It takes a lot to get under my skin. I was giving you a example that some unions do give you education. It is the best thing that I have done for myself and my family. My last job I spent seven years with(non-union). In those seven years, I worked for three different companies and was still doing the same job. We was part of corporate America and things wasn't getting better. I couldn't stand changing insurance companies every couple years and worry what the new company will do. That is why I got into the Union and to get the education. I went to college a couple of years and actually about 10 credits short of having a drafting degree. But the money isn't there, so I looked elsewhere. So sometimes having that piece of paper from a college(in my opinion) doesn't mean you will always get the big bucks.

If I would of know about Local 53 when I was younger, I would of went that route and been better off in the long run and still have a education.

I think by this time everyone has made up their mind who the are going to vote for.
The last few months I have watched people that even hinted that might support Kerry get shot down like a coon in a tree during hide season. Seems they like the big word LIBERAL talking about Kerry and when someone maybe even hints to support Kerry they are a liberal. What happen to people respecting your fellow hunter not by the party they support, the size of the money in their wallet, but the moral in their heart?
I recieved so many e-mails from people that are afraid to speak their minds on here if they mention they might support Kerry. Especially on this web site it is worse then normal if you even hint you support Kerry.
For me I have already voted. I voted for a republican senator. I do not understand under this president we have
Gas Prices Record High
Heating Prices up 29 % from last year
Americans are being beheaded
Over 1000 troops dead
Jobs going over seas in which started under Clinton, but I promise it will stop under Kerry. I know trust me.
Millions of people including my self with no health care. In the end we will pay more if someone waits to go to the doctor because of no insurance people wait to their problem gets worse then us Americans are not going to let someone die, so we pay for the problem at the worse time when it could of being treated before at sometimes quarter of the cost before it gets that far.
Iraq has me worried. Even the guy who was in charge over there Paul Bremer who works for Bush says we made mistakes by not having enough troops which allowed terriost to come in across the borders to fight against us.
What ever happen to Osma the guy we really went after for killing our people?
Whoever we choose as president I will predit after the election we will not have a new president for over 4 months. It is going to be a legal mess.
Good Hunting

Election

Richy A very good comprension. For me this one is easy North Korea is for any body but Bush same for arabs Yasser arafat Bush
will not talk to him Clinton gave him status as a peacemaker. Clinton gave U.S. soverignty to E. U. court on his way out of office.
We now have 12 "Democrats' Plus Jimmy carter asking non democrat nations to come monitor our elections.200 yrs of soverigty out the window. France and Germany are together against U.S. The last time these two agreed Poland disapered.Neal37

Richy, you say your company was just bought out. Watch out! There are alot of companies that have found a way to loot all those benefits you think you are getting including your pension fund. They pay the corporate CEO and other officials outrageous saleries, which then bankrupts the companies, which then files for bankruptcy and gets it, and then the workers who thought they had all those benefits for all of those years are left with nothing. And then Bush sees to it that the company officials don't even have to pay taxes on the money they looted. All I can say Richy is to watch out, when it comes your turn to retire, you may not be able to afford it, your pension money was looted. I will say I was able to take early retirement, thanks to my union which managed my pension money, not some company managing it.

LOL

I have to laugh at many of these post. First of all let me tell you neither the republicans nor the democrates are for the average working man. No President can take sole credit for much of the rhetoric expounded by any party loyalists. Party loyalist have no other interest than to forward party agendas. Voters are only a means to an end for many party loyalist.

Now let's stop and take a look at the good ole USA. We suffered our first mainland attack in more than 100 years ... of course our economy suffered! DAAAAA!!!!! We are at WAR, but not with Afghanistan or Iraq. We are at war with religious zealots based throughout the middle east. What is one of their favorite sayings? Make your enemies' enemies your friends. Fact is connections did exist between Sadaam and world wide network of terrorist. Was Sadaam a threat? If he wasn't a threat the UN would not have had inspectors searching that country. Fact is he had already proven to be a threat. Based on the above information, if anyone can't draw the straight lines they need to pull their head out of the sand.

I have no party ties and I vote for the best man, but I have to admit that the direction of the democratic party worries me. It is increasingly headed towards more and bigger government with more controls. I like my freedoms. I like the fact I can make my own decisions. I don't want government to tell me I must do this for retirement, or I must have this health care, or that I can't own guns, or at what times my children can or can not pray. I see a dangerous trend in todays society. We are gradually reducing the numbers of decisions we make daily. Heck, my truck turns on its own head lights. I don't know about anyone else or not, but I think I am responsible enough to make that decision on my own. Slowly as we have fewer and fewer decisions to make we are going to loose our decision making capabilities. We are going to become more like sheep.

I worry that we are headed down the path of the European countries. A society that is largely out of touch with the natural world. I am sorry but I like the USA! If I wanted to live in Europe I would move there.

You can tear the issues a part with details of campaign rhetoric, but push comes to shove don't loose sight of the bigger picture. There are much greater issues at hand, and we are standing at the alter of a marriage I don't believe a free society can afford.

A hillbilly or some farmer or a common hard working guy off the street that knows what it's like to struggle to raise a family and make ends meet.
They need to replace about 99% of them idiots in Washington with a common man!
