I been staring down the barrel of a minor storm headed straight at me. Now they got it one time complicated with a North storm and have had that calculated before the fact for quite awhile. And Now they got a third component come into play up North to anticipate a left hook. Sounds bad. Maybe very bad. If they got it right, and they have so far, I will be very impressed..

Weather is very unpredictable to me but Buttox heads after my ass is not unpredictable to me. Where was the CIA and the Pentagon and the Administration while staring down the Barrel of 9-11-12 ???? in Libya???? HuH??? Maybe the administration should take lessons from the weather service?? Of course the storm serge has not packed it up NY City yet so maybe they just need to sit on their thumbs and HOPE and FEEL GOOD about CHANGE of direction out to sea for the Up Coming.

Thanks Chuck. The storm's 200 mi. southeast of Hatteras,N.C. now and we already have right much rain. And I'd say sustained winds of around 35-50 mph.Storm is still a good ways from us too.Full moon has a lot to do with the flooding we already have.Seems like our backs are against a rock and a hard place.Ain't gonna be pretty,I'm afraid.

LOL!!!! I,myself, could go either way as far as coonhuntin'.I've had good nights and bad during a full moon, but that full moon definitely makes the tides rise higher ever time.No DOUBT 'bout that!!!!!And coupled with the storm surge,AIN'T GOOD......FOR SURE.

Praying for all!

Any of you all down south of us are in our prayers! We shouldn't have TOO much to deal with here away from the MA and RI coast....but have family along the shore. Not wooried about our MA relatives BUT... my sister Martha and her husband are in Amityville Long Island....and Irene surrounded there house and neighborhood.... This storm seems way worse and if it goes where they say I would ask if you all could spare a moment to pray for them? My mum, who is 93 is very concerned My sister was at her house in Boston till early this morning and I know Mummy hated to see her driving TOWARDS a potential disaster but she HAS to get home to help sucre the house and get all belongings to the second floor again.... (FYI I'm talking about Heather's family... Bob wouldn't be calling HIS mother Mummy! at least not on here...lol.....)

Stay safe all! Heather and Bob William

Our contract power crews left last week for New Hampshire from Mississippi. Maybe at the last minute it will turn sharp east and get outta here.

I just commented to Bob I hope it just goes to sea and fizzles out!

Prayers for SAFETY to all the POWER CREWS BTW! They did a super job in our Snowtober stomr here. So many people were complaining about how slow, how long our power was out etc...well we went out and Thanked them for working so hard! Not an easy job!

GO AWAY SANDY! Heather

Takes many years to build the electrical system and less than a day to tear it all down. Patience is rare when the power has been out a couple of days. You have the right to fuss if you pay a light bill, but the lights wont come on any faster. You have to bite off the Elephant one bite at a time. LOL

WEST VIRGINIA

As much as 2 to 3 feet of snow was forecast in mountainous areas, and flooding was possible in some areas. Several shelters were put on standby, and power crews were mobilized to handle potential failures.
