just wondering what everyone thinks
my vote would be HARDTIME SPECK a lot of the dogs winning the big ones today go back to speck 10 times or more I think the speck jr cross was one of the best crosses ever

Stud dogs

Tae Bo produced some top hounds I have one from tae Bo x Hanna that one of the smartest young hounds I ever owned 2nd grnt ch gr show that will tree coons any where you turn him loose

CH GRNTCH MICHIGIAN SWAMP ROOSTER

HAS PRODUCED DOGS THAT RUN THREW MOST OF ARE DOGS BLOOD TODAY. HE WAS BRED TO EVERYONE WITHOUT DISCRETION AND HAS PRODUCED ALOT OF GOOD HOUNDS. IF HE WAS ONLY BRED TO SELECT FEMALES HIS PERCENTAGE WOULD BE STAGGERING. I DONT GET TIED UP IN THAT THOUGH HE HAS PRODUCED COON DOGS PERIOD!

The best "Coondog" I ever owned was out of Rooster. Wish I had another like him. Best one bark accurate tree dog I ever hunted with especially when it got cold.

Swamp Cat would get my vote though. I have hunted with a bunch out of Cat. As a whole he is the best in my book.

Swamprooster the Woodstock dogs I have one a very tuff dog to beat especially in cold temps he out of Woodstocks Grizzly

Posted by Longwoods Kennel on 12-25-2013 05:26 PM:

BOYD'S LITTLE JOE
HARDTIME SPECK
NICHOL'S TREE SPIKE
CHIGGER HILL GOLDEN SONNY
WILCOX'S THUNDER J.R.
BESHEARS' BLUE BOY11 (JUNIOR)
MICHIGAN SWAMP ROOSTER

Just to name a few but I'm leaning toward WILCOX'S THUNDER J.R. and why I say this is because the last three WORLD CHAMPION ENGLISH HOUNDS go back to him.
(not to mention that he is foundation stock for several different strains. WOODSTOCK, MICHIGAN & VIRGINIA SWAMP ROOSTERS and MAINSTREET BRED DOGS)
JOHN THE BAPTIST is J.R. top and bottom. ALSOME is J.R. on the top and maybe the bottom (not sure) and of course TOP GUN is J.R. bred. So I guess I'll have to go with WILCOX'S THUNDER J.R.

The seven up top weren't slouches either and an legit arguement could be made for any of them to be the stud dog with the biggest impact on the English breed.

There are three that have made a total impact, with out Hard time Speck, Boyd's little Joe, and Brashears Blue Boy ll I just owner what the English breed would be today everything that I know of goes back to them in one way or another by everything I mean a majority

Old time

Boydes little joe by far had the most impact on the dogs we have now, hands down. Johnsons Banjo who was a walker who from English lines was bred back into the English lines..LOL ( old timer huh? ) the things I know.

still working

Just back from the Christmas hunt 30 min's out and back fresh snow on the ground 19 degrees F 1 coon and home my five year old says Go English LOL 100% accurate too *BIG Grin*! Merry Christmas to all my coon hunting. hound loving friends. to me it don't get any better than this. We still hunt any color here as long as they have a full tool box and the brains to use them. Boydes Little Joe still gets my Vote.
