The disgrace of today's politics.
Watching the Repub debate last night, it occurs to me that it's no wonder we see so much disrespectful behavior amongst the young people today. With the example set last night by the leading candidates for the highest office in the land, the future of this nation seems completely hopeless.
I haven't missed a vote since 1976 but I absolutely WILL NOT vote for Hillary and I sure ain't voting for Trump, Rubio or Cruz so next November I will go to the polls and cast my ballot in our state and local elections but no way I'm voting for President. The future of this country is not bright.

Disgraceful is an understatement, hard to believe we got to this point
Jim the sky is not falling! The southern Baptist refused to vote for a Mormon and we ended up with 4 more years of Obama. Any of the 4 is 100 times better than Hillary and a not vote is a vote for Hillary!
Trump Rubio and Cruz are not 4 times better than Hillary, they aren't better than anything. We are equally screwed with any of them.

Why in the world do they think that they have to resort to such name calling and back biting? They are like a pack of coyotes. I don't understand why they can't just debate their policies and plans and leave all of the negativity out of it. The moderators were the cause of a lot of it. Their questions were ridiculous and designed to provoke the candidates. It was just like watching a soap opera for the most part. And then at the end they all made up and said that they would support each other. It was like they were just playing to the crowd. It reminded me of a bunch of professional wrestlers who were best buddies when they got back to the dressing room. I really wonder just how "made up" most of it is.
Jim, you need to understand why it has become sooo ugly. The Republican old guard is losing control and will do anything not to, including losing the election. Trump and Cruze are the two non conformist that the party Elite will not allow to be nominated, and if they are they will sabotage the general election.
It is said that if Cruze was chocking on the Senate floor, not a single Republican would give him cpr. That's good enough for me. Cruze or Trump will be a definite pluss for the country. I will if I have to vote for that putz Rubio, but it will then just be business as usual.
Jim, I agree with you about the debate. But Kaisch would be an option for you right now???? Also, the RNC isn't gonna alow trump to be their nominee. This will be a brokered convention. I believe their wrong, but make no mistake about it, there will be a 3rd party candidate. It'll be either Trump or Romney running as an Independent candidate.
But Jim, your right! It makes me sick at how their acting. Kaisch is the only one making any sense right now. And I believe he's an honest to goodness moral man with plenty of executive experience.

As conservatives we have a very rare opportunity to take back the Republican party. The career politicians are trying hard to hold on but change is comin and you should be a part of it. Anybody remember who Eric Cantor was? I am willing to put up with a little dog and pony show if we can get a REAL Republican into the White House!!!!!

I agree with you, I just hope it's Cruz. The man memorized the Constitution at 13 yrs old. He's a Constitutional geek and has spent his life defending it and arguing it in front of the Supreme Court.
Cruz's biggest fault in this election cycle is that he was unlucky enough to be elected a Senator. But in reality he's more outsider against the establishment and good ole boy politics than Donald Trump could ever dream of being.

Ed, I would like to agree with you, however Trump as of a few years ago was a progressive liberal on all the issues you just mentioned! I would gladly vote for Cruz, but I will not vote for Trump!!

I'd love to do that however being a principled conservative, I will not vote for a liberal regardless of whether there's a D or a R in front of their name. I will not compromise my values simply because someone is deemed an outsider!

I think the point was that if you've voted for politicians, pretty much any politician at the state or national level, you are compromising values. Strong values aren't something that you will often see in high-level politicians. They solicit money (campaign contributions) in exchange for favors. Sounds a lot like a prostitute to me. If you support either, it is a compromise in values, unless those are your values. Supporting these types of people is a compromise in values---or a deficiency). If I didn't compromise, I'd never get to vote for state and national offices.
