Lay Up Or Hunt?

Do you guys lay a dog up a night before a hunt or hunt on?

Well that would depend on the dog. I'd prefer to lay one up so I could lay up too lol but I've had a couple of those nut jobs that had to have the edge hunted off them or you might as well stay home.

I personally like the 21/7 or 28/7 rule but ill deviate from that depending upon the dog in question. Some dogs can't sit for more than a few days before they go retarded. Others can go a month. But if you use the 21 or 28 days on and 7 days off it usually pays off. If the dog is conditioned properly then with 7 days off they come out of the box ready to roll and higher strung.
