Garmin Alpha 100
Anyone had problems with theres not turning on unless its on charge ? ive took the battery out for a few minutes and still wont turn on. is my hand held taking a ****?
.
I think you should start by checking the battery connections. Both on the battery and the handheld. If they are clean. Then borrow a battery from a friend and see if it powers up with another battery. One thing that can't hurt. While you have it powered up on the cable. Delete all the old tracks and archived tracks in the handheld. Probably have years of archived tracks and old tracks in there.

Bruce, hijacking the thread a bit.. If you do a factory reset on an Alpha 100 does it clear all the old tracks and history out? Just curious.
.
Some. The archived tracks need to be deleted one at a time.
You can to to trip computer and see just how full it is of tracks. Then you can reset or delete all of them at once. Looking at the percentage full you ALPHA is, gives you a good indication it that was the problem or not.
