Hate To.

Hate to interrupt the rule change comments. But I have couple questions. Bought two 8 wk. old pups at AO. Was wormed on Monday before. How soon do you suggest next worming? and with what wormer? They also had shots at the same time. How soon and with what do you recommend for next shot?
Thanks for any infro

If you live in the south, or any where heart worms are prevalent, you need to start heart worm preventive at 8 weeks.

You're better off giving the Leptospirosis shot as a stand alone shot verses
in a combination with several others. For pups getting the Lepto shot for the first time I'd suggest having some Benadryl on hand in case they have a reaction. If they have a reaction it's not pretty and they'll go down quick! I've had it happen twice. If they react you need to get a Benadryl capsule down their throat immediately and get them to a Vet ASAP!

Most Veterinarians will suggest you have hunting dogs vaccinated for Lepto as they are at higher risk than your average house pet. There is a very real danger of humans contracting Lepto from an infected animal and it can be deadly. The treatment for humans is no waltz in the park either.
