I don't get as excited as I once did but I'll still enjoy myself. Back when the hides were up, I used to buy my kids Christmas from selling them and it meant a little more. I just hate leaving those coon in the woods but they're not even worth bringing out so we'll just put one down now and then and enjoy the dogs. It's all about the dog anyway! Good luck and be safe.

Mr. Moore, I do know what you mean about not taking every coon, but what is nice about the season is if got young dog coming on you can make him better when he gets to taste it and more so when you bring new kid for the first time and they get to shoot the coon out, it just seam make them want come back again and again, I can remember my first time I got to shoot the coon out to the dogs it was great to me, but also back then a kid with an old grade hide dog could nice pile of money to get more and better hunting stuff, lol.
I say sometime it was the good ole days.lol

Jimmy & Rob

Good luck and be safe. I know what you mean by taking young ones with you. Me and my hunting partner Tim have a couple that we take. One young 12 year old girl that is on her third year of hunting and she absolutely loves it and the other is his first year, he is 8 and is super excited. I really love to take these young ones out and see the light in their eyes. I remember when I first started close to 50 years ago and I couldn't wait for darkness to set in. Heck I already had all my hunting cloths on and flash light all with new batteries and my sling shot, LOL! Well maybe not a sling shot but I thought while I was on a roll. Let us know how you did, have a great day.
