Garmin DC50 not working...

I have a Garmin DC50 that is completely dead meaning I cannot get it to power on. I thought it may have been the battery that went bad, so I bought a new battery and replaced it today. The problem remains. I cannot get it to power up at all and it does nothing when I connect it to the computer.

Upon closer inspection, it looks like the plastic on the front of the cover above the status light is broken with some plastic missing off the top of the collar closest to the dogs neck when it is on the dog. The original battery looked like it had some water damage on it, but the circuit board looked clean.

I do not know what to do with this collar. It's obviously broken and needs a new plastic shell. Any advice on where to send it for repair? I do not want to pay more in fixing it than what it would cost in replacing the collar with a new one.

It looks like my DC50 collar has some very weak plastic that is supposed to keep the electronics dry. Anyone else having problems with their DC50 collars?

Call Garmin at 1800-800-1020 and they will take it in on their repair/exchange program and send you one that looks like new.

(KNOCK ON WOOD ) Freddy i havent had nothing but good luck with my dc50 even though ive heard several people cuss them . But one time mine wouldnt track or power on after i recovered my dog . I called Garmin and they showed me how to re-boot the collar and when i did it fixed it . That was about a year ago and it still works like it did when it was new ! I cant remember what they had me to do exactly but I'd say since they discontinued them they prob wont be as helpful? ( prob want you to buy a new one ) . I will send you a number for a place that may be able to help you if they cant.

I did a reset on it by hitting the on button four times, but no luck. I gave Garmin a call and they will send you a like new refurbished collar to replace the dead collar for $99. My total was $108 including tax.

You have to send them your old collar and I did that earlier this week. I think mine died due to the case breaking allowing water to infect the electronics on the inside.
