Den after Den
Had a fun hunt yesterday afternoon but man the squirrels out done us. Made at least 6 dens but did tree a few on the outside but they timbered out quick and hit dens too. Pistol and Mattie worked well together and i enjoyed watching and hearing them tree.

Same Here
Took my half cur/ half walker saturday with a buddy & his son & made dens everywhere we went. Haven't even saw the squirrells in the yard here at home for a while. Forgot did tree one fox squirrel saturday & watched it hit the den too. Pretty rough here now for sure.
Have talked to several guys having the same trouble but at least we have some squirrels. Several guys have told me they aint got no squirrels and have sold their dogs for that reason. I had a good day yesterday afternoon. We treed 12 or 13 with a dens too. Got 9 and watched 3 timber out and hit dens. Had a really good time though.

It's the same every year. Once all the leaves come off the squirrels stay near a hole. You will discover there are many more holes too and the squirrels know where every one of them are. I think it's better to hunt where there is some under growth for the squirrels forage in and they will tend to leave the den more.
