The Carl and Missy pups are making better than average hounds out of that cross. I sold the male I had here when we lived in town. Could not get him to stop barking, even with a bark collar. That pup was treeing hide drag at 6 weeks, coon with the old dog at 5 months and split treeing between 6 and 8 months. Tried to buy him back after moving and he cant be bought.

Other Carl pups are starting to really come on too. Been getting good reports on the Carl X Annie. From the first cross. Jason Guthrie (Donnie Guthrie's Nephew) has one from the second cross that is doing it solo this season at 11 months old and is piling up the hides for him in IL.

Grant Wainscott has a nice female out of Carl X Stormy that got rid of his pup trainer at 8 months. She also placed second bluetick female world champ at the world show. So some have the ability and looks. The young dog just needs hunted more to compete.

Joe Ratcliffe came out and picked up two pups for his boys. It's good to have pups that will make dogs if hunted.

The only thing we would change in the ones we have here would their noses. We like a little colder nosed dog. We have a triple Hammer 8 female that should help with that. She trees coon behind, beside, with or in front of the other dogs. We have hunted her with other houndmen and our own dogs. Most of the time other hounds cant even smell the coon. Looking forward to the future with these hounds.

Thanks for this old hound Allen. He is helping to get people that were once houndsmen back into it again. Good luck with your fine hound Allen.
