HELP!! pup training question

have a walker about 16 months old. Does everything i could ask for except one thing. when he trees when i get to where he can see my light he will meet me off the tree and take me right to the tree and start treeing again. What or how can i make him stay on the tree and not meet me.Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Thanks, Mike Franklin

Question....how far does he come to meet you before he goes back?

Scold him for meeting you, and stress praising him on the tree. I have had this problem. Worked on one. didnt on the other

Walk straight to the tree tie him carry a switch if he meets you rap him on the nose don't talk to him couple stings on the nose he will will stop. And like he said don't pet and praise him till after you walk him off the tree

What has always worked for me is don't let him take you to the tree. When he shuts up and you believe he is coming to meet you. Stop and shut your light out and don't take another step until he lockes it back down. Most of the time they are meeting you because they want to show you what thay have done. when you stop and shut your light out the excitement level drops and they will go back. every time he shuts up you stop. after a few times he should figure out if he ain't on the tree you ain't coming
