How to get a pup DNA TESTED???

How do you go about getting a pup or dog DNA tested?

Alot of breeders have two and three gangs of pups running around right at the same age and they do get mixed up for i have know that to happen the guy said he had different colored collars on the different gangs of pups and a couple got chewed off and he did not know what gang the two pups belonged to.

I have been to kennels that had 20 or more pups running lose in a pen and always wondered how they knew what was what and a lot of times i believe it depends on what you are looking for and then its that one right over there just never had much confidence in picking from more than one litter of pups running lose.

I know me and a hunting buddy picked from about 20 pups a few years back and supose to have gotten mates but no way was that true or i don't believe it was breeder said he went by the tatoo in each pups ear well could you not switch a few when you were doing the tatooing to the litter that would sale best?

I have a good friend with a stud dog and raises several litters of his own each year . We tatoo the pups ear with moms first intial before they leave her pen . If in doubt Dna can always answer parentage so for a little over $40 you would know for sure .

That a great idea if ever one would do that there would be no problems but there are some people that just want to make a dollar any way they can if a pup dies and papers are back on that litter i think another pup a lot of times are put on that set of papers.

Best way just get to know a well known breeder that you can trust and that takes away all the guess work.

Sometimes though when you go to Autumn Oaks there are so many beautiful pups and you know nothing about the breeder its hard not to take a chance.

lol it might be like an old rooster man with 500 birds running around and tied up on cords and when you walk through the yard , even though to you they all look alike he can point out and tell you about every chicken on the yard and what rooster and hen they are out of . to me it's no different than a couple litters running together . if you spend time with them everyday you can tell the difference . except maybe the black and tans lol they all look alike .

Right now I have three litters here at the house. One litter will be 8 weeks old this weekend, the next will be 4 weeks old and the last will be a week old Sunday. Right now anyone could tell what's what, but in a few weeks it may be harder for someone that's never seen any of them to know what pup belongs to which litter... But if the breeder spends as much time as he should with his/her pups he should still be able to tell what pup belongs where...

I do think you are 100% correct that you need to a breeder who has a good reputation.
