you can also donate some to the homeless shelter. they use it for peanutbutter/jelly sandwiches. they use a lot of it.

If the factory that produced the product wanted it to go for human consumption they would have donated it in the first place and received a tax right off. Most likely the product didn't meet quality control and was sold as animal feed. Any other use is a very good way for the manufacter to close the "door" to farmers as animal feed source and sending it to a landfill to reduce the liability.
