What % of treed squirrels get knocked out?
Just out of curiosity, if your dog gets out and trees 10 squirrels, how many will you be able to shoot out to it? It's not uncommon at all for my dog to get treed and even timber for a while, but a lot of time it's physically impossible to go 250 yards through the woods before the squirreld hits a den or whatever. So what is a good reasonable percentage for you guys?
It all depends on what time of the year and the weather. I can tell you this, if I see the fur it's coming down but some times of the day we may hit 3 in a row then all the sudden we hit 5 dens then back to sqs. I have noticed that in IN this time of year Gem stays pretty accurate because of the rut. Even den trees have the male at the top MOST of the time.
