Breeding female Question.

Folks, I have a quick question.
I know knowledge and college go a long ways, but sometimes experience is best served fresh.
I have a 7 year old Blue female. Real nice hound and I want to breed her one more time before retiring her.
But she has a lump in one of her back mamary glands(Teat)
It is about the size of a plum.
Will it hurt her to breed her?
Will it get bigger or smaller?
I know it should have been removed, but it doesn't bother her and hate to put her under gas for something like that.
What's everyones thoughts?
Thanks and God Bless.

it has obviously grown for it to be plum sized now, but did that take 7yrs or a shorter amount of time?
some tumors are benign and will cause no problems. some can have certain hormone receptors on them and when female gets pregnant they can grow. I would check w/ vet and maybe US to be sure it isnt interfering with any organs. if its ok to breed, you may want to consider having it removed after whelping. also depending on how close to teat it is, it could interfere with milk production or the milk could be bad. which would be bad for pups

If she isn't near to coming in ,I would have it removed and breed her when she comes in . She should be all healed up by the time you get pups . Best of luck .

i agree w/ Cynthia, have a vet check it out and if they feel it will be fine it probably will be
