natural bobtail where does it come from
I have just had five great looking pups out of my mtcurs flatwoods ace and flatwoods maize. Both are good stay put treeing squirrel dogs four out of five are natural bobtail i was hoping that some one could tell me where or why the bobtails?good or bad.they are from the best blood.
Bubba, why you don't have a answer to your question, is that nobody knows the answer. Put your question in Google's search engine, and you can read for days on the subject, and you will still not have a answer to your question. I have spent a lifetime in the company of Cur dogs, and the best answer I can give you is that, it's just in their blood.
i cant remember where i read it but i think it was from a spanish explorer that brought dogs to the south from spain that had bob tails. i will try to find the reading again.
some info that I have says in the late 1930's black terriers were
crossed into the arline & jaebeau stock causing the curs to have
a rough coat ,bob tails & hi set rear dew claws.
before this blood was added most curs dew claws was low on their leg, almost like having another toe
