young dog qeustion

i have a 8 month old female got her at six months with no training took her out with the other dogs a few times and would go the first fifty yards and come back. let two caged coons loose for her(by herself) she ran track and trred them to my surprise taken her out several more times still wont go hunt and when we get to the tree she wont tree with them but you can tell she knows the coon is there. any body know a solution. my buddy said maybe because she is not around other dogs but when we hunt

Took her out a few times, two times with the cage, then took her out several more times. I total that up and I'm betting she needs to be walk hunted alot more. Really, the only answer is either you are willing to walk her till she goes on her own or you aren't. It's that basic.

Give her time

Keep her on a lead and turn the old dogs loose, then walk her into the tree, then tie her back at the tree, don't let her into the other dogs, then when she does start barking with the old dogs, praise her a few times doing this, should get her going. Good luck, patience is the key.

my opinion ,i would single her out a few nights where u think u can walk her on some hot tracks .U gotta walk them young dogs sometimes and next thing u know they disappear one night and go hunting.
