Ruin a dog?

Will it ruin a dog if you use a frozen coon hide to train them? My dog isnt all the way finished yet and I use one every now and then. I got one pup that will bark at it and one that dont want nothin to do with it.

we use them all the time and no problems. We do try to show 'em live also, but the frozen doesn't hurt and in fact is a little more challenging to track the scent. We most often use them for pups to start them.

sometimes we freeze just the hide (roll it up in ziploc) which is easier for drags for puppies.

when we do use the frozen coons, we try to let them thaw a litle bit, but not so much that you can't reuse them.

also, don't thaw / use them too many times or they will start smelling like dead coons - don't want dogs to chase that.

Maybe if it was froze hard and you dropped out of a tree and it hit the dog on the head and caused brain damage.
