gunshy

Having a hard time breaking my 14 month old female from it...been shooting a couple rounds when i feed and petting her up not seem to get any progress out of this. Do i not need to be shooting coons out to her as long as she like this?

gun shy

i had a young red dog thats was 10 mons old he would run and tree his own coon but 1st time i shot one out gun cracked he left the tree area after that i tied him up so he see when gun cracks he get a coon didnt take him long to get over it some dogs never get over it is your dog shy in anyway just have to be painet with the dog and work on this issue

if you pet her up while she is scared, you are reinforcing her being scared. Keep shooting coons, just ignore her while you are doing it. she'll realize before long that when the gun goes off, the fun begins.

Just tie her at the tree and use CB's, They dont make much noise. And dont worry about it.

ok good...i didnt want me shooting at the tree to make her scared to tree because she knew the gunshot followed.
