inside hound and wood floors question

what do ya'll think about getting some boots for my dogs feet? his claws are starting to scratch up the wood floor which isn't worth it. my parents want me to get his nails clipped but i know he needs them for the woods. the only way i can think of to get around this is to set him outside in the kennel or get him boots but i don't want his pads to get soft either. but i figure the wood floors aren't keepin them too rough anyway. but anyway do ya'll think its a worthy investment?
thanks

Just go a head and put your dog outside as long as he has a good place to stay. I can tell you'll never be able to put up with an inside dog. You have to be able to live with it.

fred i guess you're right the last time we went out he was trying to climb a tree. shorter nails would probly stop that.

bluedogman he's already spent about 6 months inside he'd
probly think i was tryin to get rid of him if i stuck him outside too long.

thanks for the help guys

gotta keep em trimmed, if you can hear them clicking on the wood they're too long and probably bother him when walks
