North East Iowa

I am making the trip from Virginia to the Ossian Ia area and was wondering what the hunting was like and if anybody would be interested in getting together for a hunt a few nights. I am going with my girlfriend to visit her family and I am planning on bringing the dogs. We will be leaving here July 31st and staying all week.

Thanks,
Taylor Lee

I'm about an hour north of there. That area has some big rolling hills, some bluffs, river bottoms & etc. From what I've heard, there is a lot of pasture ground so although it might be a bit steeper than what some prefer, its pretty nice hunting. Lots of coon in that area too.
You don't have to travel too far west and it is basically flat ground where 90% of the timber is river bottoms.
Find a local to take you out, depending on where they're from will depend on what type of hunting you'll be in. Either way, there is plenty of coon in that area.
Some pretty good trout fishing too!

There is 5,000 acres public hunting 30-40 minutes south of there. I have relatives in Castalia and might be able to set up a hunt. That is if you don't mind hunting with some trashy curs.
