expectations for a 14 month old pup

In general across all breeds what do you expect a 14 month old pup to be doing in the woods?

That's a hard question to answer, but it really depends on the dog. How mature it is,how much it has been worked with etc.....I have two female dogs that are about 2 years old. One of them didn't really start treeing alone until she was 12 months old, while my other pup treed her first at 7 months. I had both of them since they were about 8 weeks old. I hear a lot that redbones really don't mature until they are all most 2 years old. But I don't know, I never had one. My dogs really just messed around, ran and played in the woods until something clicked with them.all I can say is by the time they were 15 months, they turned into coondogs.

A dog that stays here will be expected to be running and treeing their own coon on a consistent basis by that age. I usually start one dog at a time and hunt one dog at at time. If I am hunting a dog from the age of 9 months to 14 months on a regular basis at a decent time of year and it isn't treeing coon, I am tired of taking it and moving to another.
