Raise,train,campaign,and you will understand!
When you consider that a well bred pup today is going to cost you at least 300 dollars. Throw in dogfood to raise it, register it and pay it up in the programs, vaccines, wormers, time spent training and caring for it the prices I see for started dogs really isnt that bad if they will do what the ads say.

Heck I figure by the time I got a dog to 1 year old I got atleast $1500 into gas and food and vet bills. That doesn`t included the cost of buying the pup and registering it in 2 KC`s. If it`s a good one why would you give it away? Young dog running and treeing it`s own coon in style is worth alot, because when you buy it you know it`s not a cull.

Have you priced a show quality dog? I'm not necessarily talking about a coonhound.....walk 'em, stack'em and judge 'em type...throw in trailing and treeing ability....it's still one of the cheaper dog sports out there.
