Litter not registered in time...
Hi! This may have been answered in other previous posts so I apologize if you have to answer it again, Russell.
I purchased a puppy which both dam and sire are UKC registered, however, the breeder wasn't able to process the litter registration. My question, is it still possible to register my puppy and how do I go about doing that and what requirements do I need.
Thank you and looking forward to your reply.
oh another question: How long is the process and sent back out to the breeder?
I'm sure Russell will give you the 'official' answer on Monday, but generally a breeder has until a litter is one year old to register it. After that, you can single register the dog, but before they're a year old, you can do it if the breeder signs a statement to the effect that they do not intend to register the litter.
Of course, you'll need to let Russell know what breed it is, as some breeds have different registration rules and processes.
Laurie
Laurie's exactly right. I need to know what breed of dog we're talking about so that I may give you the correct information.
Sir, They are pitbulls.
For this breed of dog, since both parents are UKC registered, the owner of the Dam at the time of the breeding is the only person that can register your dog with us. If the dog is under a year of age, they can submit a Litter Registration Application, otherwise they would need to do a Single Registration with us, then sign the papers over to you.
