I like all that Scaggs breeding and High Dollar Dancer's mammy is C&S Smokey bred, which I really like too.
That's a lot of Ace blood, but I've no first hand experience with Ace dogs, so I couldn't comment one way or the other on that part of it.
Good luck with the pups!!!!!!!!
to much ace is the problem if you ask my opinion but it might be worth the shot.

I know the Hammer dog well, and he is nothing like the stereotypical dogs out of Ace. I hunted with him a lot when Roy Folkerts had him, and even hunted him for Roy a couple of different periods that lasted about a month each. Hammer is the best track dog I've seen. He can run about any kind of track, and when he opens his mouth on a track he is gonna tree it. The dog is not a quick tree dog, not a hard tree dog, not even an on the tree tree dog with company. When he trees he has a coon, and he'll stay however long.
I don't think a lot of Ace blood is gonna be a problem for you. If you could get the good from Hammer, and the good from the breeding on the bottom side you will have a nice litter of pups. Of course we never know if that will happen or not.
I agree i'm not a big fan of Ace either. Ace dogs have a lot of natural ability, but dont seem to have much sense. the Bailie / Schenker line of dogs have a lot of brains. ace will be in there twice , both times in the third generation. thats about where i like it. Your right about Hammer being a real track dog. He can really move a track, away from most dogs. And he's a stay out of trouble tree dog. The night I hunted with him another male dog was growling and biting at him, he just sat down and kept treeing. I think this will be a nice cross.( if they get hunted)
