New Recipe For Rabbit

New Recipe For Rabbit

1) Season Rabbit & brown in Skillet for 5 to 10 minutes

2) Bake in a roaster on a elevated rake (don’t let liquids from bellow touch rabbit), bellow the rake put water, 2 shots of whiskey, & one cute up orange. Bake for 3.5 hrs at 350 degrees. Add two more shots of whiskey again after 2 hrs of cooking, because it will evaporate.

It’s supposed to fall off the bone. I’m cooking it now. I will know how it turns in another 3 hrs or so.

Has anyone else tried something similar?

A friend has tried something similar with squirrel, but he used beer instead of whiskey.

I just tested it the rabbit. It’s most definitely done. The original recipe was for a squirrel. Since a squirrel is tougher it probable would take 3.5 hrs, but the rabbit was more than done in 90 minutes.

It came out ok, but I've been told some used beer. I have very little experience cooking with alcohol of any type.

I think in the next couple of weeks I'm going to substitute beer for the whiskey in the liquid bellow. The last 45 minutes I'm going to baste on Baby Rays Barbeque sauce tainted with whiskey.
