Needing some advice!!
IM new to this sport ive hunted coonhounds all my life.. ive rabbit hunted all my life with people around here but never had any dogs of my own and needing some help.. i bought to bad seed bred pups and now htere 5 1/2 months old and they are running good! by themselves.. theyve jumped 2 rabbits for sure and ran them cuz i seen the rabbit. but when there in there running. and i dont know what there running.. when i catch them i dont know if i should petem up good or beat there @$$!!! just needn sim advice is all...

It is the same as coonhounds .You will be able to tell by their voice and speed and straight line running when they are on fast game. They will get a fast site chase on rabbit but will be short lived.
I had a similar experience with a pup. I knew he could jump and run his own rabbit by witnessing it, but sometimes he would start something I just wasn't sure of. We started running him with an older dog who was straight as an arrow. If the pup opened and the older dog did not in 1 minute, then it was attitude adjusting time.
