I live about an hour and a half norht of there. It is mainly private land. There is some good river bottom and draw hunting in the area. You shouldn't have any problem finding a place to hunt. Most of the local ranchers will let a guy coon hunt on them exept during deer season.

I live around Shawnee as well. I do alot of hunting mainly to the east and north of there. Big pecan bottoms and river hunting. Pretty easy to get permission to coon hunt and a decent type coon population. We get into a quite a bit of water most of the time but its fairly easy hunting. If you like to hunt off of 4 wheelers its ideal hunting. Look me up sometime when you get in the area and we'll put one up a bush, granted I am home and not off on a pipeline project in ten buck too somewhere. lol I am listed in the phone book.
