2nd U.K.C. hunt
I just got in from my second U.K.C. hunt. I read negatives on hear all the time about the hunts, well I do not have anything negative to say.
I drew out with a pretty good group of guys and had a very enjoyable hunt.Hunters called there dogs fairly I thought, one fellow even spoke up and said to minus his dog, no bickering or argueing was ever heard by me. No, I did not win. lol I did end up 325+.
And to think I almost did not go, I kept telling myself, " its gonna rain, the BUCKEYES are on, don't go." Then I got my old lazy bones dressed to hunt and went. Really glad I did.
This hunt was in WOODSFIELD OHIO, if you guys ever get the chance to come to a hunt there, come on down, I hope your experience will be as good as mine.
I just wanted everyone to know, not all the hunts are bad.

I have to agree with ya Bob. You hear so much negativety on this board about nitehunts, I'm surprised anyone wants to hunt in them. I hunted my first hunt a few weeks ago, and loved it. I had a great time.

I went to one last night and we had a blast as well. Did not tree as many as I thought we would be for the most part we all got along very well. I think you will find this to be the truth in most hunts and the bad to be the excpection
I wonder
What is the percentage of hunts a person does go to that are a BAD hunt?
On any weekend there is How many UKC hunts. Out of those hunts how many turn out to be a bad hunt for someone?
I know all we see on here is just how bad someone got the shaft, and who gave it ot them. Those are the hunts that get the lime light i guess, but that opens the door for a flood of bad or negative post. On a negitive hunt post I try to point out other more important things. Dogs health, not to do something stupid and get barred, things of that sort. Sometime they are misunderstood and that opens a whole new can of worms, and sometimes the person sees what Im trying to say and somwhat agrees. Then you have the select few on here that just wants to get a fuss going.
Back to my question. How many hunts( on a percentage ) are really bad hunts? In my time in the woods and hundreds of hunts taken in to acount. I would say its somewhere in the line of 10%. Thats a rough guesstamation, but fairly close I would say. I guess that means 1 out of every 10 hunts is a sure enough bad hunt. Not a hunt where the dog isnt doing its job, or more often where I screwed up on my end. I mean a hunt that no matter what the dog or I do we're gonna get beat.
I know it seems like a person can have a bad month or so, but if you can look past the now you can see most of the time it isnt that someone is there trying to hook you. When you replay the hunt in your head you will see, well if he would not have pulled, if I would not have been so tree happy myself, we would have won this hunt.
Congrats on a great cast draw and a good hunt. There will be plenty more, but remeber with any good there is always some bad. Just be prepared.
