No

If u follow procedure it can be done. If its ? @ the time it was scored .
Moh/panel have that privy.

Posted by GA DAWG on 03-09-2012 04:31 PM:

Maybe I should of said in the woods. Without it going to a MOH or Panel. Yall list examples of how you can please.

Once a tree has been scored, it's scored. No going back unless it's changed by a MOH, and that ain't likely.

I would think...
If it was simply a written mistake - YES
If it was scoring a tree minus or circle - NO
If it was any other scoring that was questioned at the time with a ? - YES. Just as long as the majority is in agreement why not.

Say we are going in to dogs treed. Dogs are split 60 yards apart. I see one dog leave its tree and go to others. I automatically minus it for leaving for 125 cause its treed in first. It goes back to other tree and is handled there. Soon as I put a light in tree. The tree the dog left falls way over and is laying in other tree.. Obviously scored as one tree but I already minused the dog. In my mind it stays minused. Don't matter what it should stay on one tree. I've talked to a lot of others that said no because its scored as one tree. I can kinda see that to if it was only feet apart.

First if those trees are 60 yards apart theres no way they are touching? but if you meant 60 feet i think you better fix your mistake on that card or we are gonna make a needless trip back to the clubhouse.

60 feet or 60 yards, in your example above I think the dog stays minused. You can't unminus a dog.

WHY? where is it written that a judge cant correct a mistake on the card? thats why pencils have erasers. If a dog is moving between 2 trees that are being scored as one he isnt moving

Why? Imagine the can of worms that would open up.

Yes, the judge can correct a mistake on the card. I don't think this involves a mistake and I don't think THIS one can be changed. But I might be wrong

I called and asked Allen to weigh in on this. I have mixed thoughts. However, I don't see how you can minus a dog for leaving a tree that he technically never left. At the moment you decide that it is all one tree then the dog never actually left "the tree". I think you have to correct the minus.
On a side note 60 yrds is 180 feet. That would have to be one big freakin tree to fall into the other one from 180 feet!!

Well, he did leave. When he was running from one tree to the other he was not showing tree and should be minused IMO.

If the 2 trees are considered 1 what did he leave? We dont require a dog to be locked to a tree, we allow them to greet a handler.

GA DAWG are you more concerned about your original question or the hunt scenario you presented.

Yes and no. Wishy washy answer? lol. Yeah.

You can't go back and change your mind on how to score a previous situation.

Five, six, seven years ago we did an article on this very topic. I searched around the Advisor Columns listed on the homepage but don't find it there. Seems like it was titled "Scored as One at the Top is Scored as One at The Bottom", or something to that affect.

Regardless, of course we can all make some dang good arguments when considering several different variables that might play a part when it comes to dogs moving about between trees that are scored as one. So, to eliminate the sake of argument on any such variables we simply said to not minus dogs for moving between trees when your scoring more than one as one.

So to answer the question you should unminus in this unique situation.

Thanks for the reply Allen.

Sounds good to me. I was thinking that as long as you were standing there under that tree writing in the score you should be able to correct any mistake you made while doing it .

Posted by GA DAWG on 03-09-2012 11:27 PM:

The deal was though. Could of minused dog from a 100 yards away. You know how folks are. They were hollering. That dog moved. That dog moved lol.
