Off Topic.......(Bloodhounds)

I know this is off topic and I really hope this doesnt get deleted but is there anyone on here that raises Bloodhounds? Ive been wanting one for a long time and im trying to find one that is reasonably priced. I would also consider trading a 11 month old lightly started walker female for one also. Let me know if anyone knows where I should look for a good Bloodhound puppy. Thanks in advance.

not sure who has them, but I bought one for my wife last year at walker days from some guys from Maryland. He isnt registered but there was a big price difference in registered ones and not. They are fun to have around. Mine was mostly a big baby and very clumsy. I gave him to a friend of mine who lives on a farm so he would have more room to roam. If you like the size and houndiness of bloodhounds then take a look at the Majestics. A few folks on here are big on raising them...they go by Majestic Hound or some such user name. What they have is a cross of bloodhound and coonhound which has more hunt in them then a standard blood hound. Plus they come in assorted colors in case you favor one type coonhound. Something to think about.

Yeah, I understood you were looking for a pet. You just have to remember that a bloodhound will still want to track so you might want to consider looking at the Majestics since they at least are bred from hunting bred from hunting dogs instead of show or AKC lines. You could get into some weird or exaggerated health issues from some show bred bloodhounds. Not trying to discourage your interest but hounds bred from hunting stock would be what I would look at even for a pet. Ditto on the smarter/listens better advice.

here are some. these are not mine just an add from another fourm.

I have 7 Liver & Tan and 9 Black & Tans. 7 Males and 9 Females. Papers, shots and dewormed. They'll be 6 wks on Easter. They're mother hunts coon, rabbit and pretty good at mantraling. Great companions and excellent with kids as well. $500 for the Liver and $400 for the black and tan. 607-988-6335. Show up sportin a KC Houndsman sticker and I'll take $100 off!!!

I have the daddy and a brother and sister to this pup the female is as sweet as her momma and is learning to be blood trail dog and the brother is treeing a caged coon and giving alot of mouth and is L O U D.

right now i would say they run around 50/55 pounds with lots of growing to come.the sire weighs right at 97 pounds and momma i would guess right at that weight too,steve owns her.

Called about the add above and he was wanting a little to much for them. Thanks for keeping an eye out for me though. Anyone else know where I might find one? I have a lightly started SS and Performance female id trade even for one. She is about a year old.
