it aint cheap here either the prime formula is 22.99 + tax!!!!
what are the first 3 ingredients what is the fat content. 21 percent protein is a maintenance level meaning a dog needs at least 21 percent protein to maintain there weight and endurance at 21 percent protein you sure can't push one hard and expect it to maintain condition or needed body fat this sounds like another lower end food to compete with supermarket brands

Looks like the same ol' same ol' ....chicken by-product (legs, beaks and feathers) corn, wheat.....
If that isnt a cheap feed, I dont know what is.
The prime formula is 26/18, chicken meal is the first ingredient. If i recall correctly.
Here is the Prime formula right from the website....
INGREDIENTS: Chicken by-product meal (natural source of glucosamine), ground yellow corn, ground wheat, chicken fat preserved with mixed tocopherols (form of vitamin E), brewers rice, dried beet pulp, natural chicken flavor, ground flaxseed, fish meal (natural source of glucosamine), salt, potassium chloride, dried egg product, brewers dried yeast, calcium carbonate, monocalcium phosphate, choline chloride, zinc proteinate, copper proteinate, manganese proteinate, zinc sulfate, vitamin E supplement, ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, niacin, copper sulfate, vitamin A supplement, biotin, manganous oxide, calcium pantothenate, thiamine mononitrate (source of vitamin B1), vitamin B12 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride (source of vitamin B6), menadione sodium bisulfite complex (source of vitamin K activity), riboflavin supplement (source of vitamin B2), sodium selenite, calcium iodate, folic acid, vitamin D3 supplement, cobalt carbonate.
I thought i noticed a few feathers in the last bag i had lol jk

[B]I guess some ppl have different opinions of what cheap is? Here its not very cheap? Maybe different in other areas.
I tried the Prime formula and they done very well on it with solid stools with little clean up.
I feed black gold, The prices are just about the same here.
Its a little cheaper here but the quality I thought was very poor. JMO
I just started feedin it this week. All the dogs are eating it really good , but its too early to tell anything else about it.
Im feedin the high performance and i believe it was around $20 for 50#
I don't know much about red flannel but I feed Hi-Standard and it has been working really good for me. It is a high quality dog food at a fair price. Go hi-standarddogfood.com for more info and to find a distributor in your area.

dog food
i have fed redflannel for 4 yrs maybe5 my dogs stay in real good shape no loose stools have plenty of energy i feed prime in hunting season through the winter months and feed the active adult in summer months my dogs always eat bite depending on dog you dont have to feed as much and your dog is in better shape and more energy its expensive where i buy mine its 29.78 for 50 lb as long as i can get it i wont feed anything else jmo
Red Flannel.......
It's JUNK.......!!!!
I have fed Purina for years, always been happy with it, except for the price.
I switched to Diamond Extreme Athlete and Diamond Naturals Chicken & Rice, the dogs did Great on both.
I thought I would try this Red Flannel Hi-Protein, I am on the 5th bag and it takes more to feed, more clean up, and dogs don't look as good.
It's back to Purina or Diamond Naturals for my dogs.
Feed what you can afford and be happy with your decision .....!!!

all purina
I tried them all;red flannel,dog chow,purina 1
All dogs, even house dogs lost weight.
Went back to victor. Its worth the $5 extra.
They all look great, have alot of energy and color. In winter{michigan} I feed Victor and Diamond EA mixed together.
Purina just has not worked.
i fed the prime 26/18 for about ten years and kept over 30 dogs at all times! This feed is a very good kennel formula small black stool the dogs will be muscled up and shiny and look excellent.
