There were actually 2 dogs in the tree with the lion. The tree was a big leaner and easy to climb. Rip likes to get up close and personal when he can. The lion kicked Rip's butt several times and then lost its footing and started to fall and ejected Rip. That placed the lion face to face with Cody. The lion attacked Cody, tore his ear and ejected him also. Very lucky that both dogs were not seriously injured or killed at 30-40 ft up. Doctoring them for a few days to ward off infection.
Happy Hunting!!

Pup from last years litter
How do I post pictures. We have a pup out of one of Mikes litter from last year. She has already treed 4 lions herself this year. I would like to put up some pics of her
That must be a pup from the Emma/Rip litter? I use photobucket.com to upload my pictures from my computer and then post them to this sight. Call us if you cannot figure it out. Will try to help.

Great photos! Hope to see you guys when we meet up with Larry. Good looking blue dogs.
Adios,
Gary
Awesome looking hounds! I love the darker color blues. What
bloodline are you running? I had a Smokey river Jim male that
looked a lot like your hound, he was 3rd gen Jim and grandson to bill koosier
dog, name eludes me at present but he was an amazing
Hound and a natural and his pup were pretty good also. Just wish
I still had some of him on the ground.. great pics, keepem coming
and keepem blue..
Love to see them blues doing it on big game. People back my way turn their nose up to the blues, they say they're to slow but I know better. What kind of nose power are your dogs consistently producing? Can they take a one or two day old track this time of year? I am always interested in improving the nose in my stock. Have you ever saved semen on anything you have, I'm to far to bring one to be bred. Have you ever had any dogs out you stock to make bear dogs? Good luck and keep the nice pics coming.

Harvey's Glade Run Hoss was sold and can not be bought back. Making a top bear hound.
Thank-you everyone for the comments!
Gary....We sure hope to get some time to run up to hunt with you.
brians....We have some of Bill Koosers old blood in our dogs. My dad started out with the Old Smokey River dogs. Our kennel is a continuation of what Dad had.
gladerunkennels..Our blue dogs have some speed for sure. They have shown consistent cold noses over the years. The oldest track that the dogs have taken was a 5 day old track but run it on to a southern slope. Not successful. We have run more than one 3 day old snow track with a lion in the tree. Just this past fall while hunting bear in Michigan, Annie and Cody got the opportunity to start a 12 hour old track and jumped the bear.
We have semen saved on Rip and Lager so far. We have several dogs that have made bear dogs over the years. We have sold several started dogs to bear hunters as start dogs. We have dogs that make rig dogs too.
Thanks for looking and Happy Hunting
