What's the best thing to put in your feeders? I've tried coon candy coon potion sour corn. People around hear say use record rack that it works the best just want some more input

Cheap dollar store dogfood in the red 15lb bags! It smells sweetlike mollasses, and coons LOVE IT!

I just made some liquid feeders. I will let you know how they work. So far I have had best luck with maple syrup but haven't had any feeders to put it in. Just put it in tires marked NO HUNTING in the fence line. lol
I was going to make feeders like cattle liquid feeders but found an easier way. I am hopeing to go out tonight and see how it is working. Hope the yotes arent getting it like they did in the tires. If so I will put it in the trees.

Yea I will get the old lady to do it tomorrow. I might have to change them though. I made these out of PVC pipe but I think I am going to make some out of the big PEX so I can wrap it around a tree so the yotes can't get it or get my coon while they are eating.

They make farmers plow up fields of corn here that goes bad still in the field. Said it kills wild life but does it slow like shutting down the liver.

I don't know but the government makes them plow it under and it kills them slow. That is all I know and a farmer that had to plow his under was telling me about it. About 3 months later there were dead coons out there among other stuff.

coons

That could have been anything that killed them not the corn tho some of the pesticides could have been in the ground and that killed them when that gets in the corn that could kill the coons

No it isn't just one insident. They have done a big study on it. Lots of farmers have had to plow up corn instead of picking it.

Well I think there might be a differance between it not drying on and going bad in the field and soaking up corn that has been ripened and dryed like it is supose to.
People have been feeding soked corn since I can remember. All our hogs would had died if it was just wet corn.

the answer to this qusetion if i am not mistaken, is temperature! in the north here in northern pa, the temps drop to a degrees that dries corn out and keeps it at a temp to keep the corn in the good so to speak! today is feb 4th, my last cornfield was knocked down yesterday! the farther south you get, the warmer the temp and like any veggie, the warmer temps will actually rot the veggie on the vine putting it at a fermented stage! add some yeast and we gots corn whiskey, without yeast, ya got rot, one other exception may be a disease in the corn! example, too much rain here and everybody's tomatoes got the blight! meaning they rotted right on the vine before they got ripe! hope this helps! remember the salmonella tomatoes going around? same scenario
