36 Years of Finley River Linebreeding

What do you get when you have line bred some of the finest "Track dogs" that ever lived for 36 years? Dogs that came from the legendary Finley River Chief through Finley River Dan, Finley River Buck, Finley River Joe, Spring Creek Rock, Mr. Warren (Baldie), Brookshier's Sting, Finley River Sally, Uncle Lee? You get dogs that can take an old bad track and push it and heat it up so quick that you don't know that it was a bad track and have a coon looking down at you when they tree. You get dogs that hunt until they find a track and take that track as it comes and have the coon. The product of 36 years of breeding the best to the best gets you:

Two outstanding crosses on the way!

Two cross that will be made real soon 1) Breeding a Son of Durbins Rambler x Rolling hills Jane to a Daughter of Brookshiers Finley River Driver hopefully next wk...2) Also we will be Breeding Brookshiers Finley River Driver to Mr.Kraviks female as soon as she comes in heat. Her Daddy is a son of Wessels wild Casey and a grand daughter to Hillbilly Mac. And her mommy is a litter mate sister to Brookshiers Finley River Driver...(Uncle niece cross)...

2nd cross will be how the old saying goes!
You want the Sire of the Sire to be the Sire of the Dam on the Dams side......

The sire of the sire would be Brookshiers Uncle Lee and the sire of the dam on the dams side would be Brookshiers Uncle Lee....

Boys I've hunted with all these dogs and this should be an outstanding cross..Nothing but COON DOGS!...

Breeding

Hi Jason,

That is how it is done to preserve the traits you want to keep. Throw in that prepotent sire for the outcross. Go back to your line breeding program and then when you are getting tight go to that pup that works for your linebred outcross. It takes 2 strains of the male or female you are trying to capitalize on to carry on your breeding program.

Bark Bustin bush

The old bush dog produced outstanding Track dogs. This cross was one if not the best cross on old Uncle Lee...Not to mention the cross on Wessels wild Casey and the grand daughter of Hillbilly Mac..This also was an outstanding cross...All of this put together and doubling up on Uncle Lee & Bark Bustin Bush and old Kate in there 4 times, should be a killer cross.....These pups should be able to smell a coon two counties over and get there faster than the pony express!!!

That dog don't look a thing like any Finley River dog I've ever seen in 30 years of huntin! Uncle Lee yes, but, he's only half Finley river and he's sure a long way from Chief and Dan. I'm not saying he aint a coon dog I don't know him! Heck I've got a Bluetick that looks more like a Finley River dog than that one. He hunts like them too! Good luck with him!!!

Funny thing is, you could cross a walker with a blue tick and some pups look like walkers and some pups look like blue ticks...point being there just as much walker as they are blue tick no matter what they look like!....
So Mr.Jaster I guess your Blue Tick could be Finley River Bred.......

Durbin's Ol Factory

Hi,

Ol Factory was black and white. Went back to Gr. Nt.Ch. Finley River Dan more times than most advertised Finley River stud dogs.
I have no idea where you could go get a track dog that could equal Factory unless it was Rattler. Rattler was dead by the time Factory came along. Rattler was out of Trap and Lipper. He was Factory's uncle. Don't take my word for it. Do your own research. Call coonhunters in the Columbus, KS area.

Sassy is bred and pups are due March 30th....I've been writing guys names down as they call, when the pups hit the ground I will start calling everyone back as I received them....

First off for the record I hunt Redbones. In over 25 years of going to the hunts and pleasure hunting I've hunted with several of the best dogs in all breeds.
I've pleasure hunted and competion hunted with Driver. He could be the best hound I ever hunted with of any color.
He was faster than the competition in every department plus accurate. He was also considerably louder than anything in the woods each time.
A great hound that is owned by a good man.

I have a dog that will fit in to the program anywhere you want to put him. I have talked to Robert Starke a ton and the first time i talked to him he told me how BOSS hunted and he had never stepped in the woods with him. Hell he knew more about him then i did at the time but every word he spoke was the truth...

Thanks for the compliments on Driver. This means a lot coming from a man that has hunted with so many nice hounds, such as Uplingers Joe, Packman,Stylish Coma,just to name a few.....

Pups due on march 30th out of my personal female several other females booked to Driver,just waiting on the lady's to come in season!...
I'm not a Big Breeder by no means, usually only make crosses for my own use,every couple yrs..haven't made a cross for 3 yrs...and like to keep them close, first come first serve..Thanks for all your interest, we get Good results line breeding coon dog to coon dog, paying most of our attention on common traits,.thanks good hunting..

Rambler sons

Hi,

Take a linebred Finley River female and cross it on sons of Rambler and get dogs that hunters dream of owning. Boss is just another example of a top son of Rambler.
