What can you tell me about him? His pups? I want to hear the good and the bad.

Because, I've been thinking about breeding to him for a while now. I've about made up my mind. Thinking about Rose, Girl, or/and Dee. I like his breeding, it is the blood that I have had good luck with over the years. The Roughton family has been winning for years. They make their noise in the winners circle and not on this board bragging every
day.

Jerry Chapman,has told me about Splitter.I just cant remember all he told me.Is Splitter a son of KODIACK.The White Oak Rage dog I owned was a son of KODIACK.I LIKED RAGE,he had some good weapons.

Call Bill Schenker...he had him at his place for several months...I'd say he's one of the better hounds ive ever hunted with. We sold his mama to Dave Morehead...owned his grandma and made the cross his daddy came from...I own a young female out of him now that you know I wont sell

I have a female that just turned two that does a decent job. When she was young she would run anything in the woods and do a good job of it. Easy to break. Will split tree and hold pressure if she thinks its there 1st or second strike, 1st or second tree. I have 2 firsts on her. When she is on she is tuff. The things I don't like: 1) Don't hunt hard alone acts like she is scared to go but will tree anything around you. 2) Chop mouth all the way with triple chop locate.

I believe Mr. Ralph Weller has a nice young male out of Splitter with a UKC 1st....Lloyd Duncan has a female with a win as well.

Sounds like he's got a few pups winning. Is there any particular trait that he is putting in his pups? How's their mouth? I've been told he is mostly chop mouth. Also, heard he bawls more on track now that he is older.

I noticed the litter that I had out of Jet chopped alot under 3 years but at 4 they started bawling alot.

Kenneth, her is the short on my male.
Good mouth, can be heard a long way. Mostly chop, bad tracks he will bawl some. Real nice bawl locate. Very good tree dog you can hear with most anything. By his self he wonders off, he does not FIRE like I like. But after a few minutes he will be in 300-500 yrds in. With Comp. he fires hard. He is very competitive, 1st or 2nd strike and a lot of 1st trees. Will split if he thinks he has the coon. Alone very accurate in cast like I said he is competitive and will grab a tree quick some and miss but not bad. Can tree any kind of coon he comes across.
Very Very Smart. Probably the smartest pup I have ever messed with. I can drop the lead and he will walk with me out of the timber. If he's not working a track and he can hear me he will come in. Does not take a whipping or juice well at all.
Well that was kind of long but if you want to know more just ask and I will tell you. Nothing to hide about him.

Volume is good. I have had a couople of guys say he is loud. He is not what I call loud but has a very good mouth. Rough dogs, to be honest he hasn't been ran off any trees but he's only been in a few cast and not really any rough dogs that I know of. I hunt pretty much by my self during the week and throw him in with a buddy once in a while.
I have hunted with Splitter before I breed to him. That was 2 yrs ago. He hunted very good and at the time all chop on track. Nothing really bad that night and I only hunted with him that one night.

My female will back off of tree and tree when around a ruff dog or if the tree gets too crowded, but she trees hard whether on or off of the tree. Everything rweller said about his dog explains mine pretty much except the bawl mouth. Mine is chop all the way all the time but with good volume. When she triple chops put her on the card. Can't handle whipping or electricity, might be why she was easy to break. Used to hunt harder by herself before she was broke. After a winter of breaking her she won't hunt hard by herself like she is afraid to go. Can tree lay ups or ruff tracks. You might hunt her a few nights by herself and want to shoot her and then put her in a hunt and run a scorecard up. (Very competitive). Hope this helps.

Her mouth is a little be low avg but you can hear her good enough.
Chops track triple chop locate back to steady chops tree fast strike fast tree loves to split right or wrong
I like her and most people who hunt with her do to

That would make Rage and Splitter half bros.Rages momma is Sweezeiy,s Deadeye Dixie.Stayput tree dog.Good mouth,hard hunter.Nice dog but like all he has his faults.Sometimes commits to a track that is hard to handle,but will tree a pile of coon and look good doing it.

I think he can be bought!!!!!!!

Splitter is loud and clear. I started walking to him one night after a hunt and they drove around and got him before I ever saw headlights!!!! They drove back around to my truck and waited on me.
