Dan River Coon Club in Madison NC

Would like to invite anyone interested in joining a real good Coon Club. We meet every first Thursday of each Month. We meet at 7pm. We are located off the Bethsda Church Rd. off Hwy 772 and off the K-Fork Rd. If you need directions call my cell at 336-409-0580. This year we have started a great thing for the youth in our area and members of our Club. Instead of the Grown ups hunting the Buddy Hunts it is for the Youth only and it is for them to learn the rules etc. and get use to the Nite Hunts. We let a different one Judge each week. They Draw out at each meeting and are to try and hunt the following Fri or Sat. Weather permitting. So far the one I have been on was great for these young people. They hunt for a hour and a grown up is always with the cast to answer questions that may come up. We have a points system that we are going to use every hunter will get pts. according how he finishes on the hunt first thru however many is hunting that certain night. I really think this is going to help these youth and I was truly surprized to see so many up beat youth at our club the last two meetings. So if you want to join a good club and you have a kid you want to get into coon hunting in a great environment Please come and join us. We would love to have you. Dues are only $10 a yr. and did I mention at the end of the Youth Buddy Hunt we are going to have a Supper for all involved and Prizes for them. Take care and God Bless you all.

this is a great lil club, and I'm glad to see the youth program, my daughter Ashley just joined this Month, and will have her first hunt this weekend. I encourage anyone that can ake it out, please do so .

You have to be members to hunt the buddy hunts. We meet the first Thursday of every month at 7pm. $10 a year to join. Hope to see you in March 4th.

i haven't paid my dues up YET but will soon, i'm not even hunting right now i'm still shopping for something to FIRE me up ONE MO TIME: if you get my drift, it's been a looooong time scince i had something that was special enough to get me back out there and PUCH something hard like i used to and now i don't know if i can hold up to hunt anything like that again.
we aint spring chickens any more.
i'm looking to get a pup here soon bred back on my kelly female and george painters curley dog.
if all works out like i'm hopeing i'll get something started this summer or this fall.
IF I DO somebody better watch out because if the dog prooves to be worthy of takeing him to the hunts it's going to be ON!
but like we allways say you will never have that dog that died years ago but we can hope to have one close or just as good as what we once had.

How old?

Terry how long has this club been around. I am pretty sure my dad was a member if not one of the first members back in 60-70's.

youth hunt,

Ashely my daughter who just turned 16 hunted last night in the youth hunt. she had never spectated, or been in a hunt! she had a great time, and also done pretty good. the lil gentlemen that she had drew out with, showed really good sportsman conduct. I'm very proud of ashley along with all the kids who took part. ashley won her cast and our dear friend mike tilly's son john won his cast i belive. I truly love to see these kids get out and learn and meet people in there age bracket to just have a really good time doing what they love..

bottom line, if you have a youth that enjoys hunting, bring 'em out and get in on the fun. its all about the kids and let them learn and understand the rules and the way the comp hunt goes,

the club has a great out look on our youths, i hope we keep this going, come out and join and have a good time , Come JOIN!!
