best concealed pistol for the money?

Thinking about getting a Ruger LCP .380 or a ruger LC9 mm..Ruger .40 s and w.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

If you're looking for a compact weapon, for the money a Keltec is not bad, because it's not like you're keeping one to shoot someone farther away than 25' realistically. And if you're keeping it to protect yourself, you should shoot it enough to be **** good at 25' or less. I also wouldnt shy away from the bodyguard pistols by S&W.

make sure if you look at the S&W bodyguard dont buy a old one, they had a bunch of them with problems, you can google it.

I'm trying to keep the price under $400 but if I find one that suits me I might pay a little more than that.

have any of you guys ever bought a gun from gunbroker.com? If so did the process go through smoothly?

gunbroker

I have bought several handguns off of gunbroker. Each deal was a breeze. I have a good man with an ffl, that sure helps. I will continue to buy from gunbroker when I get the urge to purchase again.

S&W 442 or 642. Both are $399 here. I'm buying my second one (his and hers). Great carry guns. I just sold my LCP and would not personally buy another .380.

Outback1 is correct...the Kahr is super nice if you have your heart set on a semi. But it won't fit in the front pocket of a pair of jeans like the 642 will.

If it's not convenient to carry....you won't.

you can get the LCR for under $400, you might want to look at the .357, that way you can shoot .357"s or .38"s in the same gun.

Inside the waistband holster and you can carry a full frame pistol. I don't like slim line pistols due to the single stack magazines. I carry a M&P 9mm subcompact with +P ammo. Plenty of rounds and you forget it is even there.

I like the looks of the 442 but I was hoping to find a semi

I would go with 9mm. Ammo readily available and always will be. Check out the ruger lc9, S&W Shield, or Kahr CM9. Should be able to find around $400.

Depends why you want to carry? if its just for decoration get ya one of those cute little 380s or a 9 but if you truly want a weapon that will stop an intruder or kill a man before he can shoot back the 1911 in 45ACP has done the job for 100 years.

Haha I love a 1911 but I'd like to see the man that called a 380 cute with six in his chest

Only paper target men stand still for 6..... in the real world if your life depends on that weapon 1 .45 in the torso wins every time.

C.C

I carry a Walther P22 with a Lazer sight. It's light weight, built extremely well, holds 10 rounds. Cost with lazer $400. Best gun I've ever carried.

A .22 is small, but I bet it stings bad if it don't kill ya.

Also I would recommend a gun 9mm or smaller, I think having my ears ringing would be a huge disadvantage.

9mm M&P- dont use the +P or +P+ ammo because it will tear your gun apart if you shoot alot of it. Excellent trigger and all round good gun, keynote CAN FIRE WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED- very important detail.

I disagree on the ammo. I work in a field where I shoot ALOT. The " suped " up ammo only uses more powder which puts the speed and velocity near that of the 357 Sig but cheaper to shoot. I also disagree with the comment about the 45 only needing one shot. If you hit your target you only need one shot anyway. Takes practice and alot of rounds. A good exercise is get your heart rate up ( sprinting, jumping jakes, etc.l Then practice shooting two rounds quickly. Repeat until your breathing so hard you about pass out. The last two rounds just before passing out will be the ones to base your accuracy off of. If you are ever attacked or have to shoot somebody then that is close to where your heart rate will be elevated to. I also like running tactical drills like shooting from different positions and contorted angles. Create muscle memory and when put into the situation your body will react from the training.

Remember its not the caliber its the accuracy (cowboy rule), shoot what you want they all kill, dependable is number 1 number 2 is accuracy if you buy a 22,380,9,40,45 shells cost alot how much will you shoot? it's a 22 hands down for me. the best gun due to ammo cost noise and so on, I can put two in the chest and one in the head and stop any one I need to. I have all calibers mentioned above and carrie my Walther p22 more than any gun because I can protect my self with it just as well as I can with all the other guns I own and mentioned earlier while conceling well with little weight, a ton of bullets and dependability, what ever you buy make sure it works consitently and you shoot it alot!

Stupidest thing I have heard in a long while. If you are gonna go to all the trouble to shoot a man, make sure he is DEAD. Dead men tell no lies!
