Missouri info / Mark Twain forest
Any of you Missouri guys hunt the Mark Twain National Forest? How is the coon population and running? Any clubs in that part of the State?

There is plenty of hunting, coon population is below average for Missouri, wild hogs in most of it, and it's pretty steep in a lot of places, but if you're coming from Wyoming you might just be used to that. I'd say you'll have fun and make some good memories. Missouri out-of-state coon hunting license is a rip-off, but will be cheap compared to your fuel cost here and back if it's still $5 gallon when you come.
You are correct about the out of state fee just to coon hunt. That needs to change.

Its pretty steep, especially if you are hunting hard going dogs, but I enjoy hunting it. There are several coons, and plenty of it to hunt.
Scout hard in the daylight. Be in good shape. Bring a SxS.
