Our RIGHT TO RETRIEVE is in jeopardy the House passed the 2 bills ending the 1938 law now they have crossed over and are in the Senate Ag Committee and could be voted on tomorrow
Please go to the VIRGINIA HUNTING DOG ALLIANCE Facebook page to find Committee members contacts look for Action Alert. ask them to vote NO on both Bills Thank you

If these RTR Bills pass it WILL effect all hound hunting in the state bear .coon deer. fox. rabbit etc. One Bill as written
if caught on land with out permission (retrieving your personal property) you will receive a trespass summons and not allowed to retrieve for 5 years

The other Bill states that you have to gain permission in the daylight. makes it tough on a coon hunter at 2am

Contact your states Federation and other hunting associations if you haven't already. The Sportsman Association is another one to contact and make sure they have it on their radar.

Not one day has gone by since I've been alive that there has not been a hunting dog here of some kind . My Dad had a good pack of beagles on Thanksgiving Day every year my 3 uncle's would come back here to the family farm that they grew up on for a big rabbit hunt when I was big enough to tag along they would let me go .those hunts started it for me then when I heard a dog tree oh man. Sorry for the long winded post
As you can tell I'm very passionate about the tradition of hound hunting in Virginia
