GrNtCh female 7 y/o
GrNtCh female 7 y/o
7 y/o (5/2/11 dob) Dual GrNtCh direct daughter off Zeb 3; double Sackett Jr on the bottom. I bought her to hunt in a few major hunts I have entries for this fall and winter. She had pups last winter and hadn’t been hunted much since having the pups. I bought her about a month ago and have hunted her about 10 nights.
The Bad: She doesn’t hunt hard enough for me when hunted by herself. She’ll go tree a coon with no problem but just don’t leave out fast. I hunt a lot by myself and when I unsnap one, I want it leave on the run.
The Good: Good track (bawl) and hard pressure tree (chop) dog. Accurate and independent. I’ve seen dogs pull up short and she tree the coon 3 trees over from where they missed it. Real good shape (looks like a 4 y/o). Raised and trained in Texas.
I’ve been told by previous owners and several people that have hunted with her a lot that she’s a much harder hunter that what I've seen and I probably need to give her more time to get back in shape after having pups and not being hunted for quite a while. I’ve gotten frustrated with her and I’m ready to hunt something else.
