what to do???
Ok heres the situation. I have a 10 month old male pup. He is running and has treed his own coon now. Heres the problem. If he is treeing for a lil while before I get in there he will chew the tree some. Not real bad but I dont want it to get worse id actually like to hear how some of you have broke your dog from chewing when they are young
Depends on why he's doing it. If they're doing it because they're prone to chewing, I get on them early and progressively worse and worse until I get it stopped, I don't worry about them quitting treeing, because they usually start it early because they are intense.
But that doesn't sound like this is it to me. It's summer, it's hot. That will make some dogs get hot and take breaks and just chew. Plus you said IF he is treeing a while before you get there. At 10 mo's old, I'd let up on him until you can get on him about it in cooler weather if he shows you he needs it. If I'm right about why, then you're forcing him into it, and unintentionally teaching him a bad habit that could get worse in the next month or so until you really have a compulsive habit that's hard to break. Just my opinion, and as always I could be wrong, but that's what I would do for me.
Probably the heat making him chew.

Problem Resolved
I can solve your problem easily. Give him to me! It's more than likely just the heat but if it were me, I'd hustle to the tree when he does tree and tie him to where he couldn't chew and encourage him to tree correctly.
I've always heard if they are chewing...they aren't leaving!
