light repair question?? Please help!!!!

now I've never claimed to be an electronic expert but my bright eyes mini 7 or whatever it is. its the led light that can be a cap or belt. mine is the belt model anyway after getting a flashing red light on my charger indicating that there is a fault I started to investigate. well there are two wires coming out that connect to the battery pack a red wire and a black one. the black is obviously connected to a negative lead on the battery pack(the bottom side of the battery) the red wire came undone common sense would tell me to connect it to a positive lead on the battery pack. Now here is my problem the red wire was still partially taped and it looks as though it was just connected to the side of the battery pack its near the bottom where the negative lead is. can any of you light experts tell me where I should reconnect this wire ?

It sounds like your battery has a PCB on it..."protective circuit board." That shuts down the power when the battery gets to a low certain voltage so it does not fully discharge. You can damage these new type batteries if you drain them too far. This is why people say certain types of batteries "run out all of a sudden." They actually didn't go dead...the PCB kicked in and shut down the power until you charge it.
Sounds like you need to take a real good look down near where it appears the wire came off and see if you can tell where it goes. It probably does not go to the positive side of the battery. That should be already connected to the other end of the PCB.

the best thing to do is call Ray Conrad, the owner and expert at BRIGHT EYES and he will give the correct information on how to fix your problem.
