3 yr old male

I've got a male blutick that will turn 3 in December. He has a heck of a mouth on him and is a very pretty dog. His problem is he won't do much of anything by himself. With other dogs he does fine but by himself will only go about 75 yds max and then come straight back to u. I'm in high school and it's my senior year I need to cut down on some of my other projects and focus on school so I can graduate.
