Purina Race/Illinois State Coonhunters

We would like to invite one-and-all to our Purina Race Hunt at Hillsboro, Illinois on May 30 and 31. There will be two nights of Nite Hunts, two days of Shows and on Saturday, there will be a Water Race.

From all that we are hearing, our hunt, show, and water race will be bringing some of the best in the nation together for what should prove to be some great and exciting competition.

We are awarding a dog box to both the Illinois State Nite Hunt Champion and the Illinois State Show Champion. There are shock collars, bark collars, gift certificates, dog leads and collars, bags of dogfood, show benches and a whole lot of things to be given away.

The way that the Illinois State Nite Hunt Champion will be determined will be that the King and Queen of the Hunt will go back to the timber for a one-hour head-to-head hunt.

The King and Queen of Hunt will be determined by performance over both nights of the hunt. The order of precedence will be cast wins on both nights, then total number of plus points. Ties will be decided by the same guidelines that are followed at Winter Classic, etc.

The overall Illinois Show Champion will be determined by a head-to-head show on Saturday of all the winners from both the Friday and Saturday shows.

Just as the breed associations do, in order to be eligible for the King and Queen of Hunt, the Illinois State Nite Hunt Champion and the Overall Illinois State Show Champion, you will have to be either a member an ISCHA affiliated clubs or a member on your own. Our regular memberships are $10/person.

Also, we will have kids' bench shows so that the whole family can be involved.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone there. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to either PM me on here or email me at fpwilliams9@yahoo.com.

Just thought that I would add the prize list for this Purina Event.

The Overall Hunt Winner and Overall Bench Show Winner are going to receive Owens dog boxes along with some other items.

Their competition in the head-to-head that aren't the overall winners will be receiving a DT Shocking system for the Hunt and a DT bark collar courtesy of Johnson Creek Blueticks.

The high point male and female in the Friday nite hunt and the high point male and female in the Saturday nite hunt(a total of 4 winners) will all receive $100 gift certificates to Valley Creek that we purchased.

The top male and top female of the bench show on Friday will receive show benches.

Each winning male and female in the specific breed that they represent at the bench shows on Friday and Saturday will receive hand painted glasses of their breed for the bench shows.

For the water race, the winners for the Open, Champion and Grand Champion will have a head-to-head "swim-off" for a DT shock collar donated by Johnson Creek Blueticks as well.

We have a lot of other prizes (leashes, collars, etc.) that will go to various winners throughout the event.

There will also be a 50/50 raffle (with a minimum of $100 prize) that will be drawn Saturday night at the draw-out. All money generated will go to the recipients of our scholarships.

It promises to be a really good event. Please make the effort to attend.
