Raby L. "Chick" Smith, Jr. - Evansville, Indiana

Raby L. "Chick" Smith, Jr., 82, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at his home. He was born June 28, 1931, in Princeton, KY, to the late Raby Lee and Ola Mae (Lewis) Smith, Sr.He worked as a truck driver for Coca-Cola for 42 years. He was an avid coon hunter, owning the first Hall of Fame Coon Dog, Hillbilly Mac, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.Raby was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donnie and Kenneth; wife of 40 years, Marge Smith; son, Jeff Smith; and granddaughter, Trisha Perdue.He is survived by his wife of two years, Patsy (Cable) Smith; daughters, Carolyn (Danny) Perdue and Deborah Jo (Fred) Harris; daughter-in-law, Nita Smith; step-daughter, Lisa (Roger) Boarman; grandchildren, Tosha Perdue, Joshua, Melanie and Zachary Harris; Cindy and Jay Smith and Addison Apodaca; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Joann Thurmond, Janie Meinschein and Shirley Merriman; and brother, Billy Leroy Smith.

Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 16, 2014, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Johanna Webb, with burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Ft. Branch. Friends may visit Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
